We all complain about the quality of pictures taken with our phones. But something as simple as wiping off the lens glass on your shirt before you take the picture can make a significant difference. I know the glass over my camera gets oily and smudged from handling, and a quick wipe before shooting eliminates much of the blurriness, haziness and bad lighting. So the next time you're lining up that quick photo, take a second to wipe off the lens. You'll be glad you did.

My problem is I carry my phone in my pocket a lot and lint gets built up inside the lens on the back. I've been trying to keep it out of my pocket more lately.

I do this every time I'm taking a picture and have the time. Trying to get a snap shot usually means I don't get the chance. It does help a hell of a lot thought.

Also worth noting, use HDR and keep both copies. Sure it makes a tidy mess since it keeps two pictures of every shot but its easily cleaned. You will be surprised how much more balanced/not messed up the pictures can be.

I'm still surprised that this isn't common sense to everyone but my mother.

She once gave me her nearly-new digital camera and bought herself a different one because she didn't like the picture quality. They were all hazy. I think you can guess that all I had to do was wipe the huge fingerprint from the lens.

It's been a habit of mine to wipe the lens before taking a picture, easy.
